Walking safari in Tarangire
Leave the vehicle behind and walk into Tarangire with an armed professional guide. The pace is slow, but you see far more detail than you ever do from a car — tracks, stripped bark, fresh dung, every one of them evidence of an animal that passed through, read aloud to you as you go. Your guide will also bring you face to face with wildlife, at a safe distance. People who like to get to the bottom of things, and families travelling with children, tend to love this one.
- Tip
- Early morning or late afternoon is the most comfortable, and the animals are more active. Midday is hot — best avoided.
- Good to know
- Closed in April and May.
